The first full-length biography of the legendary comic strip creator. An in-depth study of Raymond's entire career with long chapters devoted to each of his strips (Flash Gordon, Jungle Jim, Secret Agent X-9, and Rip Kirby). Included is a previously unpublished article written by Raymond: "How I create Flash Gordon From Week to Week" complete with photographs. The book features over 175 photographs and almost 400 illustrations. The vast majority of the illustrations have not been seen since their initial publication in the 1930s and 40s and many pieces are previously unpublished. With a Foreword by George Lucas and an Introduction by James Bama.
