Description

A beautiful copy of the 1971 mass-market paperback original graphic novel by Gil Kane.

In 1971, Gil Kane created Blackmark as a paperback series for Bantam Books. Kane was a comics artist specializing in super-heroes who had drawn every major character from Superman to Spider-Man. Blackmark was his attempt to go "independent" and create a series which he would own and whose creative direction he could control.

"The new full-length action adventure in words and pictures. First in a series of daring adventures featuring Blackmark in the primitive world of the future."

"Set in an anarchic, post-apocalyptic world racked by lawlessness and bloodshed, Blackmark, in the tradition of such epics as Spartacus and Gladiator, tells the story of an embittered slave who stages a revolt against a corrupt and brutal regime - a tale of righteous vengeance against a background of political intrigue and rampant injustice."
