A lavishly illustrated reminiscence and meditation on the famous illustrator's career and life.
David Grove is one of a handful of revered illustrators that came to prominence in the 1960s. He created paintings for advertising, hundreds of paperback covers, and as many movie posters, including The Outsiders and Something Wicked This Way Comes. In 2007, David was inducted into the Society of Illustrator's Hall of Fame.
David Grove: An Illustrated Life is a book that was years in the making. David was approached to do a slim art book that would collect his best and most famous works, but he wanted more than that. He transcribed his lifetime adventures and solicited contributions from life-long friends to create a text to go along with the art.
The 305-page book features 145 color illustrations and 200 black & white drawings, sketches and photographs. In David's opinion, this book had the best color reproduction his paintings have ever had.
