Description

"Sixty Reproductions from original drawings with an appreciation by Earnest Elmo Calkins and an introduction by Meredith Nicholson." This 1925 book was the only major monograph on this astounding pen-and-ink artist for almost 80 years. There have been two Booth monographs released since 2002, but this remains the best of the bunch with 60 carefully chosen works emphasizing majesty, romance, and adventure. Fantasy as well as midwestern heartland scenes. 60 full-page ilustrations, two text illustrations, and a photo of Booth. With an appreciation by Earnest Elmo Calkins and an introduction by Meredith Nicholson. A major influence on Roy Krenkel and the inspiration for Berni Wrightson's Frankenstein illustrations.

This is a well above average copy of this title.
