Description

Frazetta's "Golden Girl." A signed & numbered edition of 2000 copies. This 17" x 18" lithograph was printed in 12 colors to achieve a perfect match with the original. The 11.25" x 13.25" image size reproduces the painting at full size. An incredible print of a fabulous painting.

According to the artist:

"GOLDEN GIRL started when Angelo Torres asked me to draw a nude figure of a girl. I drew the figure in pencil and, liking what I saw I started to add things here and there. You could say the painting just grew from that point. I worked on it for about three days, pouring all my love and feeling into each little part of the painting. GOLDEN GIRL is overdone artistically, but on the other hand that's what makes it work. l didn't know how to suggest then, so I painted every tiny detail."

"If there is a sequel to this painting, it is my 'CAT GIRL' painting, which I started ten years ago and am still revising slightly. This is my favorite subject matter...girls, erotic, yet innocent, lush vegetation, cats...the feline form. This is the "pure" Frazetta which comes with no strain and is completely natural and enjoyable. The spacemen and warriors which I sometimes paint...that's work! I have to force myself to get into the mood...like method acting, I guess. But I don't love it, and it doesn't come as naturally as a subject like GOLDEN GIRL."

According to Cochran in the cover letter that comes with the print, "This lithographic print of Frank Frazetta'GOLDEN GIRL is the most faithful reproduction of his original watercolor that it is possible to produce. No effort and no expense has been spared in producing this limited edition print for the most demanding and discriminating collector."

This print comes with the original cover letter, printed folder and protective tissue paper.
