Indes fourbes - Édition Noir & Blanc

In stock

This special "Édition Noir & Blanc" features:

-Juanjo's finished pencil pages prior to the application of watercolor.
-An eight page sketchbook: "The Creation of Don Pablos."
-A virgin cover sans title/text (the title is on a paper banner/obi band).
-A burgundy cloth spine printed in gold.
-A black ribbon bookmark.

Given that Juanjo's spectacular watercolor painted pages are such an integrale element of this epic, this edition, reproducing Juanjo's finished pencil pages, is really for students of comics and paintings--and collectors of lovely fancy editions.

Our pal Juanjo's latest graphic novel, years in the making, is a 160-page opus (the equivalent of three normal albums) set in 17th century Spain and the New World.

(As of July 2021, Delcourt has rejected all offers from U.S. publishers, so there are currently no plans for an English language edition.)

From the publisher:

From the old to the New World, the fabulous epic of a rascal in search of fortune ... In 160 pages in a very large format, the artist of Blacksad and the writer of De Cape and Crocs offer us this exceptional album which constitutes their Golden Book! A sympathetic scoundrel, Don Pablos of Segovia recounts his picaresque adventures in America which was still called India in the Golden Age. In turn miserable and wealthy, adored and roasted, his tribulations will lead him from the lowlands to the palaces, from the peaks of the Peruvian Andes to the winding Amazon, to this mythical place in the New World: Eldorado!
