Zongo Comics was founded in 1995 by Matt Groening. Unlike its counterpart Bongo Comics, the comics published were geared towards older audiences containing adult material. The only two titles published by Zongo Comics were Jimbo and Fleener.

Because the Zongo Jimbos were not very popular when they came out, Zongo printed less of each issue. By issues 6 and 7, they only printed 500 copies.

Because only ten Zongo Comics were ever published, they are sought after by collectors.
