This is Eliza Ivanova and I'm excited to share RAW MATERIAL v.1 with you. It is a carefully curated selection of drawings I've done in the last 5 years, while also working in the film industry as an animator at Pixar Animation Studios in the Bay Area. The book took a good six months to compile, after going through numerous sketchbooks and folders, and figuring out how it all should come together. I decided to include drawings of different techniques and subject matter I've experimented with throughout the years to show you what inspires me to create.

I've been in the animation industry professionally for 7 years, working as a 3D animator at Pixar Animation Studios in the Bay Area, and before that I went to Calarts for traditional hand drawn animation where I got my BFA degree. That's a total of 11 years of living and breathing art, film making, and storytelling, and you can see it seeping into my personal artwork. Every piece, even the smallest and fastest one, has a backstory in my mind. It may not be as obvious sometimes, as I let the piece evolve on its own from the original concept, but I'm a storyteller at heart.
