"A History of Art 2: Painting"This volume is a biography of artists Man Ray and Marcel Duchamp by Philippe Dupuy (half of the team of Dupuy-Berberien).

With pop-ups attached to the two endpapers: one pop-up is Man Ray and Marcel Duchamp playing chess in NYC; the other is a Man Ray photograph as interpreted by Dupuy and pop-up designer Jean-Marc Fiess.

Limited to 2400 copies with a signed & numbered color print laid in: A Self-Portrait Hommage to Man Ray by Dupuy.

From the publisher:

Philippe Dupuy is known for his work as a comic book author, notably alongside his sidekick Charles Berbérian. Less known, on the other hand, that the author is a great lover of art; that he was a pupil, at the school of Decorative Arts, of the famous art critic Pierre Cabanne; that he has never ceased to feed a passion for the subject.

"A History of Art", started in 2017 with the largest leporello in the history of comics (over 23 meters on both sides), continues to unfold in this second volume, Painting. Through Man Ray's personal journey, between painting and photography, who will meet Marcel Duchamp in particular, and above all, for the pure love of art, we are invited to stroll in the artistic landscape of this 20th century and to skip the exhibitions and workshops. From the canvas to the camera, from France to the United States, between two original pop-ups designed by Jean-Marc Fiess, we take a unique artistic stroll.

A fun and educational trip though the land of contemporary art!

Dupuy, Philippe
