The first volume in Applewood Books' outstanding Walt Disney Sketchbook series. This is a handsome facsimile reprint edition of a 1938 British publication (never published in the United States) displaying animator's model and character design drawings created for Walt Disney's first animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). Twelve (12) beautiful watercolor concept paintings of characters and settings and early character studies and exploratory drawings. This elaborate gift book became one of the most highly collectible Disney books commanding thousands of dollars.

From the library of James (Jimmy) Hickey, a longtime TV and feature animation background artist. From 1978 to 2009, his credits included Key Background Painter, Background Painter, Background Supervisor, Background Stylist, Key Layout Artist, Background Layout Designer, etc., working primarily for Hanna-Barbera, but also Warner Bros. Cartoon Network, and Disney. He retired in 2009 to paint and teach.
