This copy was still in the shrinkwrap when we purchased it, however we took it out of the shrinkwrap to inspect the book. There is a bump to the front/top of the spine and to the upper front corner, the latter slightly bending the first pages at that spot. The dustjacket is wrinkled at the two corners. The slipcase is badly bumped at two corners. (We can supply a substitute slipcase in Near Fine condition--it has a small 1/8" scuff and light shelf wear.)

This deluxe 13" x 13" coffee table book on Disney's animated feature, The Jungle Book, is in the same series as Pinocchio, Mickey Mouse and Blanche Neige, but this book was never published in English. Featuring visual development art, story boards, character sketches, layouts, animation drawings, cels and backgrounds. The frontispiece is a cel & background set-up. The color plates have a UV varnish to enhance the image and simulate an animation cel. Minimal text in French.

From the publisher:

This book relates the fabulous history of the creation of the last animated feature overseen by Walt Disney. From the first sketches of Ken Anderson and Bill Peet to the magnificent backgrounds of Albert Dempster, close to 250 artworks are reproduced: preliminary studies, storyboards, layouts, animation drawings, cells and backgrounds. A true testament to the work of Walt Disney and the importance of the cartoon as an art form.
