This sixth volume finishes off the complete reprinting of Dell Pogo Comics with Pogo Possum issues #15-16, a Pogo story from Our Gang #6, a Pogo Christmas Story from Four Color #254, an unpublished Pogo story, an unpublished Pogo Possum cover, original art from the series, and a gallery containing all of the Pogo Possum covers!

From the publisher:

Walt Kelly's Pogo, acknowledged as one of the most important and influential comic strips of all time, first appeared not in newspapers but as a feature in the Dell comic book anthology Animal Comics, as well as in Dell's Four Color Comics before getting its own title, Pogo Possum in 1949.

It was here, in the four color world of comic books, that the feature and its characters grew and matured, ultimately becoming one of the world's most famous comic strips.

Now fans of Pogo can see it all from the beginning with Hermes Press' reprint of the complete Dell Comics Pogo. Noted comics historian Thomas Andrae observed that with Pogo, “Walt Kelly created a strip that is both poetic and graphically stunning as well as an important commentary on our times."

With Hermes Press' complete reprint of Dell Comics Pogo admirers of this groundbreaking comics feature can now witness the strip's evolution, in an archival hardcover, digitally reconstructed to perfection.

1. In the story "Albert and Pogo's Christmas", from "Four-Color #254 - Santa Claus Funnies", the story should be read in this order: pg. 99, pg. 103 - 110, pg. 100 - 102.

This came from the library of Burny Mattinson (1935-2023), an animator, director, producer, and story artist for Walt Disney Animation Studios, from 1953 until his death in 2023. Mattinson directed Mickey's Christmas Carol and The Great Mouse Detective. He was named a Disney Legend in 2008 and was the longest serving employee of The Walt Disney Company, with a career that spanned almost 70 years. His extensive library included numerous subjects and especially large collections of books on Disney, animation, and classic comic strips.
