Hands down, the best art book ever published on Wrightson. A thorough retrospective through 1979. It includes his best works and concludes with his Magnum Opus: Frankenstein, with illustrations published and unpublished, penciled pages, and preliminaries.

Chapters on: Early Works; DC Comics; Swamp Thing; Purple Pictography; The Monsters Color-the-Creature Book (reprinted in its entirety including Wrightson's hand-painted versions); Warren magazine work; Christopher Enterprises posters and portfolios (never collected outside of these pages); Frankenstein; and The Studio.

The book includes numerous rare illustrations and artwork, such as his suite of four dinosaur paintings, his Purple Pictography collaborations with Vaughn Bode--reproduced from the original art! 

This is the Underwood-Miller reprinting from 1991 after the original 1979 Land of Enchantment printing. I cannot see any difference in printing quality between the two editions. Underwood-Miller produced a paperback version, a hardcover version numbered #1-700, and a deluxe hardcover version with a matching cloth-covered, velvet-lined clamshell box signed & numbered #1-300.
