Description

Order this book from us and you will receive three exclusive items:

1) A limited edition color print of a Ron Cobb painting that does NOT appear in the book!

This Cobb painting of a snowbound downtown L.A. (that's the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion in the foreground and L.A.'s iconic City Hall building in the background) was the December 1968 issue of Coast FM & Fine Arts magazine. It has never seen print since that 1968 publication! It is reproduced from the original art.

2) A limited edition color print of a Ron Cobb political cartoon that does NOT appear in the book!

The cartoon is reproduced from the original art.

3) An exclusive, limited edition "Nostromo" pin, produced by Titan Books, based upon a design by Ron Cobb!

A collaboration between the Concept Art Association and the Estate of Ron Cobb, this is the first book on Ron Cobb since Colorvision was released in 1981--over 40 years ago! This will be the first art book to cover Ron Cobb's entire career, including all of his post-1981 film work.

Ron Cobb (1937-2020) received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Concept Art Association at the very first Concept Art Awards in 2019.

From the publisher:

During his sixty-year career, Ron Cobb provided concept art for some of the biggest films in sci-fi cinema. From designing spaceships for Alien, Dark Star, and Firefly and Delorean from Back to the Future to character designs for Conan the Barbarian and creature concepts for Star Wars and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Ron has left a legacy of artwork behind to inspire future generations of concept artists.

This beautiful coffee table book is full to the brim with Ron Cobb's artwork from throughout his career and includes exclusive insights from the talent he worked with along the way, including James Cameron, Joe Johnston, Robert Zemeckis, Bob Gale, and Nick Castle.

Foreword by James Cameron. Afterword by Ron Cobb's widow, Robin Love.

Author Jacob Johnston was the visual development coordinator/producer on all three Thor films, all three Captain America films, three Avengers films, Iron Man 3, Guardians of the Galaxy 1 & 2, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Johnston wrote The Art of Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Art of Ant-Man, The Art of Captain America: Civil War, The Art of Doctor Strange, and other Marvel Studios art books.
