This special stand-alone volume of the bestselling French bande dessinee series XIII, from 2007, was illustrated by guest artist Jean Giraud (Moebius).

Little by little, XIII has reconstructed most of his life and figured out who he is. With one exception: There is still a gap in his college years, when Jason McLane became Kelly Brian. A gap that may mean the amnesiac adventurer is in fact an Irish terrorist, Seamus O'Neil. This flashback brings us back to Boulder, Colorado, and before that to Northern Ireland, to reveal the last piece of the XIII puzzle, and his final identity.

Initially serialized in Spirou magazine in 1984, “XIII”was created by Jean Van Hamme, the author behind “Thorgal” and “Largo Winch”—the latter in comic and book form as well as on the big screen—and William Vance, illustrator of the bestsellers “Howard Flynn,” “Bruce Hawker,” “Bruno Brazil,” “Bob Morane” and “Marshall Blueberry.” This special volume, however, was illustrated by comic legend Jean “Moebius” Giraud, of “Blueberry” and “L’Incal” fame.

XIII is a bande dessinee series about an amnesiac man with the Roman numeral "XIII" tattooed on his shoulder, who must uncover his past while being hunted by assassins and involved in political conspiracies. The series follows the protagonist as he pieces together clues like a key and a bullet wound to his head, leading him through a complex web of espionage and intrigue.
