Murky World started out as a 3-part, 24-page, black & white serial in Dark Horse Presents in 2011. Corben then returned to Murky World in fifteen 8-page color episodes that ran in Heavy Metal issues 288 thru 301 (2017-2021).

The first volume in Dark Horse's Richard Corben Library collects the entire Murky World serial from Heavy Metal magazine, the Dark Horse Presents one-shot, never-before-seen sketch material, and an introduction by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, all in a gorgeous dustjacketed hardcover.

Corben is known for his legendary fantasy underground masterpieces published by Fantagor Press as well as Heavy Metal. His work has been recognized internationally, winning one of the most prestigious recognitions in comics literature, the Grand Prix at Angoulême International Comics Festival. In 2012, Corben was inducted into the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame.
