This special signed & numbered hardcover edition preceded the softcover by four months in 1994. This is a first printing, with clothbound boards, illustrated endpapers, and a tipped-in illustrated limitation plate signed & numbered by Stan Sakai with a small neat remarque of Usagi's head.

This copy has the usual small original drawing by Sakai on the signed & numbered limitation plate.

But this copy has a second original drawing by Sakai on the half title page--a large dramatic full figure of Usagi with a tokage, a dragonfly and leaves blowing in the wind.
