Jean-Louis Mourier attended the School of Applied Arts in Paris, and began his career working as a commercial artist in 1984. In Marseille, he met Arleston, with whom he began the heroic fantasy series 'Les Feux d'Askell' for Soleil in 1993. Four years later, Mourier and Arleston created 'Trolls de Troy', published in Lanfeust Mag.
Jean-Louis Mourier received the grand prize at the Quai des Bulles festival in Saint-Malo 2007 and the Albert-Uderzo Prize (Wild Boar for Best Drawing) also in 2007.
