In the heart of the forest, a fluffy white coat of snow has covered Granny's cottage. Her granddaughter, an intrepid traveler, writes to her from the Yucatan Peninsula, in southern Mexico. This time, no hot-air balloon expedition: the young woman dreams of discovering the Mayan pyramid of the kingdom of the legendary Jaguar, alongside Professor Géranium. The energetic little girl has already made friends: a toucan, a coati, a buffalo, an ocelot, capybaras, and a little Indian the same age as her. The boy seems to know the jungle like the back of his hand, and is upset to see that clandestine mines are flourishing there, attracting gold prospectors with little respect for the environment. To get rid of them, the jungle would have to be classified as a "nature preserve". And to do that, the happy gang must prove that Mayan remains are hidden there...

Is the secret kingdom just a myth, or is it right there in front of their eyes?

In this episode, Milady takes part in an archaeological and naturalist expedition. As a birthday present, she offers to take Tête de Pioche with her. Between the jungle, fauna and flora, she will be completely at ease.

We also find Walter and his men, as well as Princess. The big bad guys from the first album. And we meet the young Indian who could well have a strange power.

In this third volume, we continue to follow the adventures of our joyful heroine and her endearing gallery of animals in a tender and expressive graphic universe reminiscent of Disney studio cartoons.

Au coeur de la forêt, un duveteux manteau blanc a recouvert le chalet de Mamie. Bien installée face au feu qui crépite dans la cheminée, la vieille dame ouvre son courrier : une lettre de Milady ! Sa petite-fille, intrépide voyageuse, lui écrit depuis la péninsule du Yucatán, au sud du Mexique. Cette fois, point de cabaret ou d'expédition en montgolfière : la jeune femme rêve de découvrir la pyramide maya du royaume du Jaguar légendaire, aux côtés du professeur Géranium. Pour mener à bien leur mission, ils ont une assistante de choix... Tête de Pioche elle-même !

L'énergique petite fille s'est déjà fait des amis : un toucan, un coati, un buffle, un ocelot, et un bien étrange petit Indien du même âge qu'elle. Le garçon semble connaître la jungle sur le bout des doigts, et se désole de voir qu'y fleurissent des mines clandestines attirant des chercheurs d'or peu respectueux de l'environnement. Pour les en déloger, il faudrait que la jungle soit classée « réserve naturelle ». Et pour cela, la joyeuse bande doit prouver que des vestiges mayas y sont cachés...

Le royaume secret n'est-il qu'un mythe, ou se trouve-t-il là, juste sous leurs yeux ?

Dans cet épisode, Milady participe à une expédition archéologique et naturaliste. En guise de cadeau d'anniversaire, elle a offert à Tête de Pioche de venir avec elle. Entre jungle, faune et flore, forcément, celle-ci sera à son aise.

On retrouve aussi Walter et ses hommes, ainsi que Princesse. Les grands méchants du premier album donc. Et on fait la connaissance d'un enfant, un jeune Indien qui pourrait bien avoir un drôle de pouvoir.

Dans ce troisième tome, on continue de suivre les aventures de notre joyeuse héroïne et de sa galerie d'animaux attachante dans un univers graphique tendre et expressif qui rappelle les dessins animés du studio Disney.
