This is the only book on the art of the illustrator Earl Oliver Hurst, 1895-1958. Hurst illustrated mostly for Collier's Magazine from the 1930's and 1940's, but also painted story illustrations for other magazine in that time period. He painted covers for the Saturday Home Magazine in the 1940's and drew ads for many companies including Jantzen Swimsuits. Hurst also illustrated a couple of children's books in the 1950's.
Hurst specialized in scenes of pretty young people always rendered with humor in his bright exuberant style.
