An omnibus collection of de la Fuente's masterful Haggarth series. Reproduced in a large 9.5 x 12.5 inch format and in glorious black & white to highlight this Spanish master's inkwork. Out of print.

In a fantasy world plagued by violence and witchcraft, Haggarth, a fierce warrior, is killed in battle, resurrected through the power of a magician, and resumes his quest to find in a monastery the skull of the three snakes …

Haggarth first appeared in 1978 in the French magazine A Suivre. With authors like Pratt and Tardi, the magazine showcased black and white and focused on long-form stories. Haggarth fit perfectly in this vein, but explored a relatively new genre in the comics at the time: fantasy.

Both stories published in A Suivre "Le Crâne aux trois serpents" (The Skull Of The Three Snakes) and "Le Jeu d'échecs" (The Chess Game), are published in this omnibus, complemented by two other completely new stories (the last unfinished).

From Manuel Auad's blog:

In 1978, Victor embarked on one of his most ambitious graphic novel, HAGGARTH. It was to be a tetralogy but unfortunately the fourth volume was never finished. HAGGARTH was serialized in A SUIVRE, a monthly magazine published by CASTERMAN. In 1982, HAGGARTH was serialized by the WARREN PUBLICATIONS in Eerie.
