Unlike the Crumb sketchbooks published by Fantagraphics or Taschen which are highly edited compilations, the Crumb sketchbooks published by Zweitausendeins are reproductions of Crumb's actual sketchbooks, unedited and unexpurgated. The drawings, cartoons, and stories (and notes) in these unedited pages flow and build and are truly like looking directly into Crumb's brain!

Crumb's sketchbooks are filled with life drawings, still lifes, street scenes, cartoons, hand-drawn copies of photos and ads from magazines, as well as the germs of stories and comix that would later appear in published form.

These beautiful editions feature a leather binding, marbleized endpapers, and a ribbon bookmark. They reprint the sketchbooks unedited, so they include a separate booklet translating all the text into German. The book is housed in a chipboard slipcase with a title label affixed to the "spine" of the slipcase.

The cardboard slipcase is Very Good+ (moderate wear). The German translation booklet is Near Fine (mild toning)
