The rare first edition of this book published in 2011. A beautifully designed hardcover with pictorial cloth covers and color illustrated endpapers. It was reissued in 2015 in softcover.

Featuring an interview with Mattias by his publisher Jens Andersson.

Mattias Adolfsson's pictures are seen by thousands of fans all over the world every day in Sweden, however, he is virtually unknown. Sanatorium Förlag has now put an end to this with the book: The first in line - From the sketchbooks of Mattias Adolfsson. The book shows pictures and picture stories directly from Mattias's sketchbooks - a detailed and subtle picture host filled with walking houses, flying pigs and intricately constructed robots. In addition to pictures, the book also contains a longer interview with Mattias Adolfsson.

Mattias Adolfsson lives with his wife and two children in Sigtuna. He has worked in CG animation for music videos, films and computer games since 1995. In 2006, he chose to leave life as a permanent employee and instead pursue a career as a freelance [analog] illustrator. The digital world now serves only as a platform in the form of the blog where Mattias has been posting pictures from his Moleskine sketchbooks since May 2006. His blog is now one of the world's most followed sketch blogs and has given him fans and freelance assignments all over the world.
