From Bottleneck Gallery:
We're teaming up with Vice Press to pay homage to the ultimate in alien terror with Jason Raish's brain-breaking print for The Thing!
John Carpenter's The Thing is a genre-bending cult classic psychological and physiological horror film that stays nestled near our hearts. Utilizing intensely detailed and meticulously crafted practical effects for a whole host of the grossest and most visceral on-screen alien mutations we've ever seen, we challenged Jason to create an image that would both encapsulate the isolated horror of the film while also allowing us to test the limits of printing. And oh boy, did Jason ever deliver. We can confidently say that Jason's alternative movie poster is a thing of beauty, honing in on the main theme of the movie while presenting an opportunity for one of the coolest projects we've ever worked on!
For several years, we've been conducting experiments with our printers to create an X-Ray print. After many attempts, we finally nailed down the right paper and printing method for our first ever X-Ray print, and we're stoked that Jason's image gets the inaugural treatment! The results are truly a Thing of beauty.
