Limited to 100 copies! The Special Edition is presented in a green cloth slipcase with white stamped lettering, with a bookplate signed and numbered by author Daniel Zimmer affixed to the front endpaper.

Mid-century glamour illustrator Coby Whitmore apprenticed under Haddon Sundblom in Chicago and later went to work for the Cooper Studio in New York. He was a regular contributor to all the top magazines (Saturday Evening Post, Redbook, Cosmopolitan, Ladies' Home Journal, Esquire, Good Housekeeping), and signed a five year contract to supply cover paintings for Cosmopolitan.

This is the first extensive monograph devoted to the artist.

From the publisher:

For over 30 years, Coby Whitmore's elegant and fashionable illustrations graced the pages of almost every major American magazine. Sophisticated, with imaginative compositions, brilliant use of color, superb draftsmanship, and good taste, his pictures represented the "Good Life." They were also notable for their glamorous women. Of all of the "boy/girl" artists working in those days, none were more admired or imitated than Coby Whitmore. This sumptuous new volume presents over 300 illustrations, is 224 pages long, and is filled to the brim with scores of beautiful illustrations reproduced from the original paintings, rare photographs, and published tear sheets.
