In 1971, the Air Pirates Collective (Gary Hallgren, Dan O’Neill, Bobby London, Shary Flennikin, and Ted Richards) took on that bastion of the Establishment, the venerable Walt Disney Company. The artists argued that parody and fair-use permitted them to use iconic Disney characters in their very un-Disney comic book. The Company was not amused, especially objecting to Dan O’Neill’s Mickey Mouse story in which Mickey has sex with Minnie. Disney’s successful eight-year legal offensive destroyed the Pirates and helped to seal The Mouse in eternal copyright.
This is a new, uncirculated copy, graded Very Fine in book grading equal to NM-Mint in comic book grading.
