The new adventures of Hugo Pratt's Corto Matese by Canalès and Pellejero. In French. This edition presents the story in magnificent black-and-white.

From the publisher:

Back to the South Seas for Corto and Raspoutine!

Tasmania, autumn 1912. Corto and Rasputin free a young man, Calaboose, imprisoned on an abandoned island. They take him with them across the Indian Ocean to Borneo, where they meet the Sultan of Sarawak, an English potentate, who reigns over the exploitation of rubber trees by the natives. This natural resource is indispensable to the British Empire and the revolt that is brewing among the Dayaks threatens the interests of the crown. Corto finds himself playing the mediator and taking under his wing a young paralytic, Ratu "the mermaid", with whom Calaboose falls in love. Corto and his friends then take the direction of the South Pacific and the island of Escondida, to find there the sponsor of their mission, the mysterious Monk, who has a very precise idea about the future of the couple of lovebirds. A new adventure that smells of the ocean spray, in line with the legendary first episode of the series, The Ballad of the Salt Sea.
