In 2024, Franka will celebrate her fiftieth birthday. This red-haired detective made her debut in 1974 in the Dutch comic magazine Pep , where she grew from a supporting character to the lead actress of her own series.

Henk Kuijpers puts an unprecedented amount of energy into making his albums. You can see that not only in the stories that are put together like a Swiss watch. It is also expressed in his maniacally detailed decors for which Kuijpers and his wife often visit the locations to take photos.

The twenty-sixth album, entitled Klifhanger , is no exception. During a party celebrating the successful outcome of the previous adventure, Franka runs into a marquis. This marquis gives her a new assignment. She is asked to investigate his family history. To do this, Franka travels to a fishing village in France, where it will become apparent that things are not as the marquis thinks.
