Pieterjan, an artist suffering from writer's block, accepts an invitation to the first Beerpoele Art Biennial in the heart of the Flemish countryside. But he soon discovers that, far from being an artist residency, it's a large, impromptu fair organized by Kristof, the kindly but giant-handed organizer. As the guest of honor for a group of eccentric amateurs, Pieterjan finds himself playing the role of spiritual and artistic guide, seizing the opportunity to convince everyone to build a grand artwork together in the heart of the moor.

Pieterjan, un artiste en manque d’inspiration, accepte l’invitation de la première Biennale d’art de Beerpoele au beau milieu de la campagne flamande. Mais bien vite, il découvre qu’en fait de résidences d’artistes, il s’agit d’une grande kermesse improvisée par Kristof, le gentil organisateur aux mains de géant. Invité d’honneur d’un groupe d’amateurs farfelus, Pieterjan se prend à jouer le guide spirituel et artistique et profite de l’occasion pour convaincre tout ce petit monde de construire ensemble un grand oeuvre au coeur de la lande.
