In the style of Une Soeur and Le Chemisier, Bastien Vivès' first mystery-thriller.

Jimmy Girard is a young police officer in the (imaginary) village of Roissan-en-Isère. It is there that he meets Vincent Louyot and his daughter Lisa. Vincent, traumatized by his wife's death in a terrorist attack, has left Paris to mourn and try to resume painting. His daughter, a quiet teenager, aspires to enjoy her youth in a rather idyllic setting. With all their differences, Jimmy decides to take this curious damaged family under his wing...

Although non-French readers (like me) may be lost in the dialogue-heavy scenes, Vives works his usual magic in the many dialogue-free, purely visual pages and scenes.

From the publisher:

In this contemporary thriller, Bastien Vivès and Martin Quenehen paint a portrait of conflicted characters who seek to give meaning to their existence in a traumatized France, both paranoid and divided.
