A sharp, unread first printing with the virgin cover! It's hard to find this treasury-sized book in this condition. Written with aplomb by Steranko and featuring a spectacular wraparound cover illustration by Steranko of golden age comic book superheroes.
We include a photocopied sheet identifying each of the characters on the wraparound cover.
The first printing was issued with two different covers: one with the title logo on the cover and one without the title logo (virgin). We have here the virgin cover.
Volume two extensively covers Captain Marvel, The Marvel Family, Fawcett comics, Blackhawk, The Flying Heroes, Plastic Man, Quality comics, and The Spirit.
29 full-page black & white illustrations (art by Mac Raboy, Reed Crandall, Lou Fine, Mort Leav, and others), a complete Spirit story, over 370 comic covers, and a two-page spread of Steranko comic art.
