In the spring of 2014, Flao and Troubs follow a scientific mission in the Tuamotu that hopes to revive the manufacturing of Va'a Motu, traditional boats of Polynesia. The mission does not achieve its goal, but the two friends decide to themselves make one of these canoes along the ancient model. This friendly DIY project will enable them to build bridges with people of this faraway France.
Sharing a common dream that young generations can return to live, love and die on their atoll, Flao and Troubs traveled lagoons, diving and living to the rhythm of sun, coconut picking and fishing. They draw a world in decline, fundamentally changed since the 1960s with money from nuclear power. One remembers testing at Mururoa. No child is born in the Tuamotu and the elderly are dying more. At ten children go to other islands to attend school and traditions escape. Flao and Troubs' drawings are all snapshots for the collective memory of this paradise adrift since the gasoline engine has replaced the sails of the ancestors.
