An art book collecting drawings and paintings of western characters created by Carter Goodrich in his spare time. These portraits became the springboard for a feature-length story that Goodrich developed into a full script outline for an animated film project on the theme of America's gun culture.
The book contains 71 full-page illustrations: 38 watercolor paintings (and 6 details) and 27 drawings. Plus, Carter Goodrich's prose story (full script outline) "Western!" and a Foreword by Bill Watterson, creator of Calvin and Hobbes.

This book was published on the occasion of the very first gallery exhibition dedicated to the artist in France--or the world! This and Casting Call are the first two art books devoted to this phenomenal illustrator and character designer. This book is only available from three sources worldwide: Daniel Maghen and LiberDistri in France and Stuart Ng Books in the United States.

Carter Goodrich is an American illustrator and character designer. He first became known for his New Yorker covers and illustrations. He then moved into animation, designing characters for films such as Shrek, Ratatouille, Despicable Me and Brave. His expressive, original style greatly influenced the aesthetics of these productions.
At the same time, he is an author-illustrator of children's books, including Say Hello to Zorro! and We Forgot Brock!, acclaimed for their humor. Awarded several prizes, including two gold medals from the Society of Illustrators, Carter Goodrich is recognized for his tender yet funny style.
