A VERY SHARP example of the scarce first printing of the first issue of Richard Corben's self-published fanzine of underground comics. This self-published version had a print run of 1,500 copies and is notable for its 8.5" x 11" format and higher quality white paper stock, befitting Corben's concept of the title as a fanzine rather than an underground comic.
It contains Twilight of the Dogs and Inna Pit by Richard Corben; Razar the Unhero, story by Starr Armitage with art by Corben; and The Devil in the Well, story by Starr Armitage with art by Herb Arnold.

Welcome to FantaGor!! Within these pages lies the realm of fantasy, horror, science fiction and adventure. FantaGor is devoted to the telling of stories in this genre, though the medium of the picture story. In this first issue we present three stories. Twilight of the Dogs is your editor's attempt at SF. Razar, the Unhero is a collaboration between Starr Armitage, who wrote a very good synopsis, and editor Corben, who did the artwork and completely changed the story to fit his own warped sensibilities.
FantaGor, like most fanzines, is a hobby. It is an odd mixture of my favourite things; but, as a hobby, it is very expensive; nearly too expensive to become a reality.
After this printing, Corben let underground comics publisher Last Gasp Eco-Funnies handle this and subsequent issues. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th printings were all printed by Last Gasp Eco-Funnies in a standard comic book size on newsprint.
